PURE SHOT:

 

Pure Shotwill let FIFA fans feel what it is like to connect with the perfect strike while a brand new ball physics system called Real Ball Physicswill ensure the trajectory of the ball behaves as it would in real life. The combination of Pure Shot and Real Ball Physics will open the door for the most rewarding and varied shot selection in the FIFAfranchise to date.

Precision Movement:

Players will now show bursts of acceleration before reaching their maximum velocity, and this wider spectrum of speed unlocks greater build-up as well as more attacking opportunities. For example, attacking players can toy with the opposition by controlling their pace before accelerating to get past their defender. 

A key component of Precision Movement is when players decelerate or change direction. Previously, players were able to change directions almost instantaneously, and were limited to turns within 23 degrees. In FIFA 14, sprinting players will carry momentum and can now move in any direction ΓÇô but may need to take additional steps as they decelerate.

Through Precision Movement, every step a player takes results in realistic foot planting that takes into account their speed, momentum and the change of direction. This eliminates the unrealistic foot sliding that occurred in previous years and allows for players to push off the ground authentically.

Real Ball Physics:



Along with changes to the shooting system, the ball in FIFA 14 acts as it would in real world football, thanks to authentic ball physics based on new formulas which dictate the flight path and trajectory of a shot. Both were overhauled forFIFA 14to match how the ball moves in space.  This opens the door to more shot options. Players will now be able to strike the ball with force from distance, drill low rising shots with accuracy, and blast dipping, or swerving shots. There are also turbulence effects. None of this was ever possible in FIFA 13.

Protect The Ball:

An intuitive mechanic, Protect the Ball is expected to enable players to fend off and block opponents from the ball while running at any speed. Now, when a ball carrier is being pulled while advancing, they will be able to counter this by stepping in front of the defender and using their body to shield the ball. With the ball at their feet, players will be able to step into the opposition and hold them off to maintain possession and make a pass.

FIFA 14 introduces new run types to make goal-scoring opportunities even more exciting. Players will have the intelligence to break down defenses by creating space for themselves and separation from defenders.

You will notice that attacking players will watch the backline to avoid being caught offside before breaking free for a pass or through ball. Attackers will also now perform checked runs to confuse defenders.

Additionally, the center-forward will back into a defender to hold position and receive the ball, creating space to gain possession. Afterward, he will either release to another player or turn and shoot on goal. 

Closing the Gap

In FIFA 14, defenders will be better at tracking runs without over-committing. They will recognize opportunities to support and apply pressure from anywhere on the pitch. Rather than always covering the player closest to them, AI defenders will better position themselves to reduce the chance of someone being left wide-open.
Defensive decision-making will be based on multiple frames enabling defenders to continually analyze the play to search for the most dangerous player. This will improve run tracking and man marking. Smarter, tighter marking will change the way games unfold as more action is driven to the middle of the field, leading to tighter passes and a greater emphasis on strategy.

Also introduced this year is defensive pressureΓÇöteammates will recognize good opportunities to win back possession and support with tighter marking and more pressure. Previously, once a team had a lead late into a match, they would begin to slow the pace to run down the clock. Now, Defenders will recognize this and press the attacking players in an attempt to win back possession.
When combined with Protect the Ball, Teammate Intelligence opens up the entire field. Plays will form organically as smarter decisions are made, meaning a more realistic football experience.

Ultimate Team:

Deeper chemistry system: In FIFA 14, you can customize your squad to play any style of football with all-new FUT Chemistry Styles. FUT Chemistry Styles and Loyalty will make each player and every team unique. These aspects replace player formation and morale in the mode.

There are a variety of different FUT Chemistry Styles for goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders and forwards. Every Chemistry Style affects different player attributes, which makes each individual play styles stand out within the game.
Much like in the real world of football, the choices you make will influence your teamΓÇÖs performance. The goal is to create the ideal chemistry within your squad, which will enable your team to reach its true potential.

For example, if you want to increase your strikerΓÇÖs scoring ability, you may choose to apply an Attacking Chemistry Style to boost their attacking attributes.
Online Single Matches: The communityΓÇÖs most sought-after feature returns in FIFA 14. Players will be able to test their talents in single game matches online against rivals.

Expanded Seasons Mode: Compete online or offline in Seasons Mode, featuring 10 divisions with promotion, relegation and coveted titles. The new historic Seasons stats will track your results, and you can earn rewards such as coins, items, and players along the way.
New Transfer Market search & compare options: A new streamlined, user-friendly search interface enables you to seek out players by name on the Transfer Market and compare them to your roster.

Player Loyalty: Players found in packs automatically start with a loyalty Chemistry boost, but those acquired in the Transfer Market do not.These players need to play 10 matches before they unlock loyalty.

Co-Op Seasons:

Play with a friend online against two other online friends anywhere in the world in 2v2 ranked online play. Plus, Match Day has been expanded to Seasons and Co-op seasons, completely connecting fans playing online to the football season for the worldΓÇÖs top leagues.

The all-new Global Transfer Network completely reinvents scouting for FIFA 14ΓÇÖs Career Mode.

Clubs will start out with between one to four scouts on staff. Larger clubs will start with a number of scouts, while smaller sides may only have one available. All clubs can eventually hire up to six scouts to evaluate talent, and scouts themselves are rated from one to five stars depending on their influence and ability.

When looking for talent, scouts can target up to six traits to help zero in on the right fit for the squad. The searchΓÇÖs specificity and the quality of the scout will determine the wait for results. Typically, scouts will report back with information on players after a few days, up to a week. Scouts can be relocated at any time and will be constantly searching for talent throughout the season.


The first round of transfer reports will include preliminary information and minor details about a playerΓÇÖs potential strengths. As players are scouted, information becomes more detailed and accurate. Managers donΓÇÖt have to immediately make decisions based on scouting reports; information is always accessible but does become outdated over time. If an entire season goes by, the information that was once collected may not be valid, so itΓÇÖs best to keep tabs on targeted and viable players for your team.

 

Player Details and Progression

When browsing the Global Transfer Network, player overall ratings for many players are no longer visible. A player must be on a clubΓÇÖs squad for that information to be made available, which puts a higher importance on deeper scouting to improve a club. Players will develop and deteriorate more slowly to reflect the real world of football, another reason to take scouting seriously. Most of these changes will take place at the mid-point or towards the end of a season.

The Transfer section of Career Mode houses all the latest news and rumors, including info on recent deals and moves. Eligible players can now be signed on a pre-contract agreement in FIFA 14. If a player is over the age of 23 and has less than six months remaining on their contract, they will be free to search for a new club on their own. Notifications will be made if and when a player is approaching this period of their contract.
Putting in a big offer or going after known targets will get the attention of clubs you donΓÇÖt control. If there is a high level of interest for a particular player, other teams can intercept a potential transfer. Transfer Deadline Day, now includes league-specific breakdowns, allowing players to focus on moves that will directly affect their club.

A new transfer option allows users to ΓÇ£reject all/disallow future offersΓÇ¥, which can prevent other clubs from continuing to approach with offers for players that are not for sale. Non-user controlled clubs will never inquire about a player and will only approach when interested in purchasing someone from your team. Players can also disable the initial transfer window upon their first year in Career Mode, to allow for accurate, real-world squads. Afterwards, regular transfer options become available during the January transfer window.

Updated Interface and Audio

All key details (Central, Squad, Transfers, Office and Season) will be found on the new, redesigned main page and all sub-menus can be accessed with the right analog stick. Within Squad, team formations can be changed without going into the Team Management screen. 
When accessing your e-mails, all content is available in a reading pane. Now only the most important e-mails will stop the game flow and older e-mails are archived for easy access. Managers can look back when trying to determine an injured playerΓÇÖs return date or to identify when certain players will be leaving for international duty.

FIFA 13 included commentary which made light of current transfer rumors, player performances and other on-field instances. Commentary in FIFA 14, takes the immersion even further with mentions of recent suspensions, potential player retirements, injury updates, and will discuss previous match results with greater detail.
